An open-concept house, all on one level
The Chantal Verdugo House is our open-concept house, built for groups and families, with new furniture throughout and a stylish, freshly decorated feel. Four comfortable bedrooms, two modern full bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen with new high-end appliances open onto a spacious deck and porches, with a firepit outside for evenings together.
Inside, a 65" HDTV with streaming, a ping pong table and a dedicated workspace with fast WiFi round out the living space, and an interior garage gives you private parking. The whole house sits on a single level, with just one step down to the guest bedroom, the washer/dryer and the garage.

More than a stay, a place to belong for a while
Floyd is a small Blue Ridge Mountain town known for its live bluegrass and old-time music, working artist studios and a slower pace of life. Stay at the house, but spend your days in town.
Live Music at the Floyd Country Store
Just 0.7 miles from the house, an easy walk on continuous sidewalk, the historic Floyd Country Store at 206 S. Locust St. is part general store, part café and soda fountain, and part live-music hall. The Friday Night Jamboree runs 6:30 to 10pm, and the week also brings Sunday Music Jams and Honky Tonk Thursdays. Stop in for a Reuben or hand-dipped ice cream between sets. They're closed Mondays, open 11am to 7pm the rest of the week, later on Friday and Saturday.
Hiking & the Blue Ridge Parkway
The Blue Ridge Parkway is about 4 miles from the house, part of a 469-mile scenic drive through the Virginia and North Carolina mountains with no entrance fee. The stretch near Floyd has overlooks, waterfalls and ridge-line trailheads, and the full parkway runs south past landmarks like Linville Falls. Downtown Floyd is walkable from the house, but for hiking and river trips further out, a car is recommended.
Mabry Mill
Further along the Parkway, at milepost 176, is Mabry Mill — one of the most-photographed spots on the entire 469-mile drive. Ed and Lizzy Mabry built the still-turning water-powered gristmill in the early 1900s, set on its own pond with short walking trails around the grounds. It's especially striking in fall, when the trees along the water turn red and gold.

"We felt right at home at Rahim's place! The house was so clean, warm and welcoming. From the complimentary coffee, cookies and frosted glasses in the fridge for cold drinks, to extra blankets and comfortable chairs on the back deck and front porch, it all felt like stepping into a second home. Rahim was very responsive when we had any questions about the house and always willing to share suggestions for the area. We loved being walking distance to downtown Floyd, with sweet shops, the library, playgrounds (for our children) and restaurants. We also enjoyed being almost right next door to Red Rooster Coffee Roasters, which has the best breakfast options! Practically, you will be on one level. The master bedroom, bedroom 1, bedroom 2, both bathrooms, kitchen, dining room and living room are all on the same level and there is just one step to get to the guest bedroom, washer/dryer and garage.
